The search is on in the depths of the wilderness in Washington state for a man wanted in the shooting death of a Mount Rainier National Park guard on Sunday night, the Associated Press reported.

Margaret Anderson was responding to a radio call when she tried to pullover the 24-year-old suspect, Benjamin Colton Barnes, AP reported. When Barnes refused to pull over, Anderson used her vehicle as a blockade. That’s when Barnes stepped out of his car and fired a fatal shot at Anderson, killing the mother of two young children and the wife of another park ranger, AP reported.

Law enforcement officials said they found ammunition, body armor and survivalist gear in Barnes’ car. Police and the FBI are looking for the man within the park. “We’re talking about a subject that has an advantage,” Guy Gill, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, told the AP.. “He’s barricaded down in the woods, armed. It puts officers at a disadvantage. It requires a lot of planning.”
