Secret Service Agents Protect Bernie Sanders from People Who Rushed Stage

Secret Service agents surrounded Bernie Sanders during a rally in Oakland, Calif.  on Monday after at least four people rushed the stage.

It was unclear why the stage was rushed, but Sanders was not injured.

The individuals were apprehended and taken into custody.

Their identities were not revealed as of Tuesday morning.

“It was handled professionally by the Secret Service,” Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs said.

In March, Secret Service agents sprang into action when someone tried to rush the stage at a Donald Trump rally.

Donald Trump’s rhetoric about Muslims is endangering American security, former CIA Director Michael Hayden said.

“The jihadist narrative is that there is undying enmity between Islam and the modern world, so when Trump says they all hate us, he’s using their narrative … he’s feeding their recruitment video,” Hayden said, the Washington Examiner reports.

Hayden was speaking at a festival in the U.K.

Hayden also said Facebook may have a greater influence on security than government agencies.
“Your habits are all geared to protecting privacy against the government because that was always the traditional threat,” Hayden said. “That is no longer the pattern, it is the private sector … we are going through a cultural adjustment.”

FBI Agent’s Gun, Badge, Credentials Stolen from Car in San Francisco

An FBI agent reported that someone stole his gun, badge and credentials from his car in San Francisco on Sunday, marking the latest theft of a weapon from law enforcement.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the agent said his car was broken into around 12:30 p.m.

Stolen were a .40-caliber Glock 27, a badge and credentials.

In January, there handguns were stolen from an FBI vehicle parked in the Bay Area. A month later, a handgun was stolen after an ICE agent left the weapon on his car.

Federal law enforcement officials have captured a convicted felon on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List.

Philip Patrick Policarpio is accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn baby in Los Angeles last month, NBC 4 reports. 

the FBI said Policarpio beat his 32-year-old girlfriend with his fists before shooting her in the forehead on April 12.

“Although my daughter’s gone, my biggest fear was, ‘God, I hope he doesn’t do this to someone else,'” Olguin’s mother, Jerilyn Olguin, said after hearing of Policarpio’s arrest.
