Is Bob Levinson, a former FBI agent and CIA contractor, still alive after going missing on a small Iranian island in 2007?

The FBI believes he is still alive, according to Gevinson’s wife, Christine Levinson.

The family last saw evidence that Levinson was alive when they saw a video of Levinson in late 2010.

Levinson’s wife said the FBI told her that investigators have “no information to indicate” he’s not alive.

“[The Iranians] are responsible for him. He went missing on Kish Island, which is part of Iran. He was only there 24 hours and they know exactly what happened to him,” she said.

“Iran has said they will investigate and get back to us. Unfortunately, they never get back to us. They’ve said this for 10 years now,” said Levinson, adding she hopes the Trump administration will renew talks with Tehran about her husband.

“I know that President Trump is a deal-maker. He can get the job done,” she concluded.

It has been seven long years since FBI agent Robert Levinson disappeared while on a mission for the CIA in Iran.

“Today we remind the world that, after seven years, Bob is still not home with those who love him – his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren and friends,” the family said in a emailed statement Friday, ABC News reports. “Bob’s continued imprisonment defies the humanity in all of us. After seven years, we have almost no words left to describe our life without Bob… We miss everything about [him]. No matter where we turn, Bob is absent.”

Levinson was retired from the FBI when he was kidnapped from Kish Island off Iran’s coast on March 9, 2007.

Only recently was it discovered that Levinson was working as a freelance spy for the CIA.

The family’s attorney expressed anger that the real story of his work as a CIA was never divulged.

“[R]ather than acknowledge what they had done and try and save Bob’s life, they denied him,” McGee said.

The wife of Bob Levinson, a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran nearly seven years ago, is fed up and said she wants the world to know the truth about her husband.

“He was working as a consultant for the CIA,” his wife, Christine Levinson, told CBS News.

Levinson wants the FBI to divulge details of her husband’s work with the CIA.

In 2011, the family received documents, pictures and a video of Bob Levinson apparently in detention in Iran.

Washington Post: Ex-FBI Agent Who Disappeared in Iran Was on Rogue Mission for CIA

WASHINGTON — An American man who disappeared in Iran more than six years ago had been working for the CIA in what U.S. intelligence officials describe as a rogue operation that led to a major shake-up in the spy agency.

Bob Levinson, an ex-FBI agent, traveled to the Iranian Island of Kish in March 2007 to investigate corruption at a time when he was discussing the renewal of a CIA contract he had held for several years. He also inquired about getting reimbursed for the Iran trip by the agency before he departed, according to former and current U.S. intelligence officials.

After he vanished, CIA officials told Congress in closed hearings as well as the FBI that Levinson did not have a current relationship with the agency and downplayed its ties with him. Agency officials said Levinson didn’t go to Iran for the CIA.

Family of Missing FBI Agent Pleads for Help from World Leaders on NYC Billboards

Nothing yet has worked for the family of a former FBI agent missing since traveling to Iran five years ago.

So the family of 64-year-old Bob Levinson, with the help of the FBI, rented billboards in Times Square and subway entrances near the United Nations with an urgent plea to the visiting world leaders, the New York Daily News reports.

“Please encourage the Islamic Republic of Iran to work with the United States Government to bring Bob home,” one message reads.

The message appears to have gotten through to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who on Tuesday suggested the husband and father was still alive, according to the Daily News.

“This is the first time he’s said anything about Bob,” wife Christine Levinson said. “We are hoping he will follow up and get the job finished so we can get him home safely.”
