A Massachusetts man who told the FBI of plans to kill then-President Obama was sentenced to time served and five years of supervised release.

Masslive.com reports that Andrew O’Keefe was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Boston on Thursday to six months of time already served.

In May 2o15, O’Keefe boldly contacted the FBI using an online anonymous tip page to say, “I’m planning to kill President Barack Obama, and I’ve got a really good plan.”

O’Keefe used his Social Security number to sign in to the tip line.

“Have the Secret Service give me a visit. I could use some company,” O’Keefe wrote in the post.

MassLive wrote:

O’Keefe apparently displayed signs of questionable mental health, telling authorities that he first needed to eat something so that he would have “enough energy” to survive being shot by police. He also apparently told them that words have no meaning and are “myths.”

Eventually, he peacefully surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody.

During court proceedings, O’Keefe’s lawyer characterized him as “a bright … college graduate who seems to be experiencing some emotional problems.”

Previously, Secret Service Special Agent Fred F. Mitchell III had also stated that O’Keefe had “mental health issues” and noted that he had been previously charged with weapons offenses in state court.

Saying she has received death threats, President Trump’s adviser Kellyanne Conway is receiving protection from the Secret Service.

The White House counselor and Trump’s final campaign manager said she received a suspicious “white substance” at her home, the New York Post reports.

She blamed it on the media.

“Because of what the press is doing now to me, I have Secret Service protection,” she said. “We have packages delivered to my house with white substances. That is a shame.”

Barack Obama’s closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett, also received Secret Service protection.

FBI Joins Investigation into Who Threatened ‘Deadliest School Shooting’ if Feminist Spoke

The FBI joined an investigation into who sent an email threatening “the deadliest school shooting in American history” if Utah State University hosted a speech by feminist writer Anita Sarkeesian, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Sarkeesian, a critic of how women are portrayed in video games, said she canceled the speech because of the threat and a state law that allows people to carry concealed permits at events in public venues.

The email purportedly came from an anonymous USU student, who claimed to “have at my disposal a semi-automatic rifle, multiple pistols, and a collection of pipe bombs” that he would use to ensure Sarkeesian would “die screaming like the craven little whore that she is.”

Campus police said they were prepared to protect Sarkeesian.

“She was worried about Utah law preventing police from keeping people with legal, conceal-carry permits from entering the event,” USU spokesman Tim Vitale said. “But our police were prepared and had in place extra security measures. It was her decision to cancel.”

DETROIT — It’s not easy making friends in one of America’s most dangerous cities.

Since becoming chief of the Detroit Police Department in July, James Craig has become a thorn in the side of criminal enterprises after making five highly publicized drug sweeps and averaging 35 weekly raids.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Craig received a death threat via social media Friday.

“We need to clap him out,” Craig said the man wrote, which is slang for shooting someone to death.

Craig spoke defiantly about the threat Sunday, saying he would not be deterred.

“We will find you,” Craig said, “and we’re going to dismantle your criminal enterprise.”

Top Ten List About Paranoia: FBI Investigating Radical Muslim’s Death Threats Against David Letterman

By Allan Lengel

If talk show host David Letterman were to put out a “Top 10 List” of reasons to be paranoid, this would be at the top.

The FBI has said it will investigate a death threat made by a radical Muslim, the International Business Times reports.

The radical person called for Letterman’s tongue to be cut out and his neck broken for mocking former al Qaeda leader and former senior al-Qaeda member Ilyas Kashmiri, the publication reported.

“So [al Qaeda] picked a successor to Osama bin Laden, and his name was Ilyas Kashmiri,” Letterman said during his opening monologue on June 8. “Well, guess what: He was blown up by an American drone.”

The International Business Times  reported that “Omar from Basra, Iraq”  posted on the al Qaeda online forum Shumoukh al-Islam: “We pray to Allah to paralyze his tongue, and that the righteous believers will break his neck.”

The International Business Times reported that CBS and Letterman declined comment and that New York police notified CBS and local police wher Letterman lives.

Man in D.C. Taxi Cab Industry Talked to Undercover FBI Agent About Killing Informant

It’s never a good thing when you talk about murdering an informant and the person you’re talking to happens to be an undercover FBI agent. Short of an insanity plea, you’re in big big trouble.

WASHINGTON — One of the members of the taxi industry charged in a far-reaching bribery investigation in the District threatened to kill a confidential informant and asked another informant to destroy evidence, according to court papers released Wednesday.

The papers say Yitbarek Syume met with an undercover FBI agent and an informant the day after the top aide to a prominent D.C. Council member was arrested last month on bribery charges.

The three men discussed the high-profile arrest and how to avoid detection of their scheme, which funneled more than $300,000 to a D.C. government official, prosecutors wrote in court papers, citing a surreptitious recording of the meeting.

Secret Service Charges Calif. Man With Threatening Obama With Racist Note on Yahoo

Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of what’s expected to be an endless problem.

By Kevin Poulsen

A Southern California man was charged Thursday with threatening a presidential candidate, for posting a racist note to a Yahoo message board in October expressing displeasure over Barack Obama’s candidacy, and predicting “he will have a 50 cal in the head soon.”
Walter Edward Bagdasarian, 47, was found with an arsenal of six weapons when Secret Service agents raided his La Mesa home in November, according to court records (.pdf). He had three handguns and three rifles, including a 30.06 with a telescopic sight and a Remington .50 caliber muzzle-loading rifle.
Bagdasarian is not accused of actually plotting against Obama, and he was released last month on a $100,000 real estate bond. Bagdasarian’s attorney did not return a phone call Friday.
