Hoping to Save on Fare, Man Impersonates Secret Service Agent

It’s one way to avoid paying fare.

A man is accused of impersonating a Secret Service agent on a the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority commuter rail in hopes of not being asked to pay, Boston.com reports. The Secret Service is investigating.

“We’re aware of the incident and we are investigating it,” Special Agent in Charge Stephen Marks told Boston.com. “Impersonating a federal agent or officer is a crime… we’re taking the report seriously [and] looking to get to the bottom of it.”

Man Impersonates DEA Agent For Special Access to Clubs

Benjamin William Mejias wanted special access to Orlando-area strip clubs and nightclubs.

To do so, the 41-year-old convicted felon posed as a DEA agent, even wearing a shirt with the bureau’s initials and carrying fake badges, ABC News reports.

Meijas is in the Orange County Jail on federal charges of impersonating a federal agent and possessing a firearm.

Meijas has a criminal record of burglaries.

Meijas was arrested by Orlando police and the FBI Orlando Safe Streets Task Force.
