The San Francisco political consultant who was the subject of a nationwide manhunt had bomb-making materials that were “designed to main or kill,” the FBI said.

It’s unclear whether the FBI has any information indicating that Ryan Chamberlain planned to use the equipment found in his apartment on Saturday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The FBI said Charmberlain lived alone.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the FBI found explosive powder, wires for a detonator, ball bearings and a motor in Ryan Chamberlain’s apartment.

What’s unclear is what the social media guru planned on doing with the bomb, investigators said.

Authorities haven’t said what prompted the nationwide search, which led to Chamberlain’s arrest Monday night.
