Fox News: Surveillance of Americans Violates Constitution, Reduces Our Free Choices

By Judge Andrew Napolitano
Fox News

Readers of this page are well aware of the revelations during the past six months of spying by the National Security Agency (NSA). Edward Snowden, a former employee of an NSA vendor, risked his life and liberty to inform us of a governmental conspiracy to violate our right to privacy, a right guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment.

The conspiracy he revealed is vast. It involves former President George W. Bush, President Obama and their aides, a dozen or so members of Congress, federal judges, executives and technicians at American computer servers and telecoms, and the thousands of NSA employees and vendors who have manipulated their fellow conspirators. The conspirators all agreed that it would be a crime for any of them to reveal the conspiracy. Snowden violated that agreement in order to uphold his higher oath to defend the Constitution.

The object of the conspiracy is to emasculate all Americans and many foreigners of their right to privacy in order to predict our behavior and make it easier to find among us those who are planning harm.

Eric Toth, a 31-year-old former teacher and camp counselor, was described as “every parent’s worst nightmare,” Reuters reports.

But in 2008, he fled the Washington area when authorities began investigating claims that he possessed child pornography on a camera at the private Beauvoir School.

Toth was captured a year after he was placed on the Most Wanted List.

He pleaded guilty Thursday to pornography charges and faces 22 to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in March 11, 2014.

DETROIT — The FBI is searching for bone fragments and other human remains at an industrial area on Detroit’s east side, WXYZ reports.

Crews in HAZMAT suits searched the area Thursday and plan to resume today.

WXYZ conjectured that it’s possible that human body parts were being sold but provided no evidence or attribution.

The industrial site, International Biological, is owned by Arthur Rathburn, a suburban man who worked in the anatomy department for the University of Michigan from 1984 to 1990.

Agents also searched his home.

Venezuelan authorities are seizing far more drugs every year since the government broke ties with the DEA in 2005, the Venezuelan Analysis reports.

Since 2005, the Venezuelan government has seized 462 tons of illegal drugs – or twice the amount seized under a partnership with the country in the seven years prior to the severed relationship, the Venezuelan Analysis reported.

“Members of the FANB [Bolivarian National Armed Forces] have made a sustained effort on the front to fight drug trafficking,” Vladimir Padrino, head of the Strategic Operational Command of Venezuelan armed forces, said according to state news agency AVN.

Drug seizures peaked in the year before the Venezuelan government gave the boot to the DEA.
