Nearly 100 Homeland Security employees are collecting pay while not working, the Washington Post reports.

Auditors made the discovery and expressed concerns about the go-to strategy of placing employees accused of misconduct on administrative leave.

Sen. Charles E. Grassley, R-Iowa, is unhappy and wants to know why so many employees are paid without being required to work.

“DHS also failed to explain why such extended amounts of time were needed to conduct investigations into security issues, misconduct, or fitness for duty,” Grassley wrote in a letter to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

A Boynton Beach police officer who was placed on administrative leave after speaking to FBI agents is suing the Florida city.

The Miami Herald reports that Sgt. Leif Broberg, a 24-year-veteran of the department, alleges the department threatened to fire him for launching complaints about members of the force trying to conceal video of an arrest.

Broberg said his leave amounts to punishment for talking to FBI agents about a video that he says depicts officers beating a suspect after a high-speed chase.

Broberg has contended that high-ranking members of the department wanted to discard the video.

The Homeland Security employee who is an outspoken black nationalist who preached about the “unavoidable, inevitable clash with the white race” is still on the payroll, The Blaze reports.

Ayo Kimathi was called out in August by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups.

“(I)n order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites – more than our christian hearts can possibly count,” the website read.

Kimathi was suspended but still is an employee of Homeland Security.

“Mr. Kimathi was placed on administrative leave on August 23. ICE does not condone any type of hateful rhetoric or advocacy of violence of any kind against anyone,” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deputy press secretary Gillian Christensen said in an email to The Blaze.

A U.S. Secret Service agent is in trouble, but this time there are no fast women… only fast cars.

An agent was put on administrative leave after a private citizen posted video on YouTube showing him driving recklessly on the North Carolina interstate.

The Charlotte Observer reports that the agent was on duty when his Dodge Charger was caught on tape, weaving across lanes on I-77 and seeming to play a dangerous game of “tag” with a van, even flashing a blue light to pretend to pull over the van before speeding away.

The videographer can be heard on the tape saying “He’s going 80 mph in a 55 zone — with no lights on,” before the Dodge Charger sped from I-77 to I-485, and later on a two-lane road going even faster.

Russ Nelson, special agent in charge of the Secret Service in Charlotte, said the agency is investigating the incident.
