The author, Gary Byrne, protected Bill Clinton when he was president. Payne wrote that Hillary Clinton was “erratic, uncontrollable and occasionally violent.”

It wasn’t just White House staffers who were afraid of Hillary Clinton, who often screamed obscenities at her husband, the book claims.

The author reports one “violent” encounter between the Clintons.

“Hillary Clinton is now poised to become the Democratic nominee for president of the United States, but she simply lacks the integrity and temperament to serve in the office,” he writes.

Secret Service agents have come under heavy criticism over the past few years for reports of wild sex parties, drunken driving and other seedy behavior.

But that media attention often misses the positive side of the Secret Service.

While preparing for former president Bill Clinton’s visit to Nairobi, Kenya, several agents spotted children playing soccer with an empty milk jug and sprung to action, The Washington Post reports.

The agents bought new soccer balls, and since they didn’t want credit for it, they “gave the gifts to Clinton’s permanent detail and asked for the balls to be delivered to the school’s headmaster,” The Post wrote.

Clinton also was reportedly moved.

The Secret Service was given orders to ignore former U.S. President Bill Clinton’s blond mistress when she visited the home he shares with his wife in New York, according to an upcoming book, “The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Revel the Hidden Lives of Presidents.”

The book by Ronald Kessler claims that Secret Service agents were told never to stop the woman, whose code name was “Energizer,” the Business Standard reports.

The woman arrived in the absence of Hillary Clinton, according to the book.

The book also alleges that some of President Obama’s Secret Service agents have hired prostitutes in Columbia.

A tell-all book by an ex-Secret Service agent who worked the President Clinton detail is bound to ruffle some feathers inside the Beltway.

The  Examiner newspaper reports that ex-Secret Service agent Dan Emmett has written a self-published book “Within Arms’s Length” that “savages the Clinton White House staff as arrogant and rude, suggests former first lady Hillary Clinton was aloof and charges that Bill Clinton endangered himself and agents for a ‘totally pointless photo op’ on the South Korea-North Korea border.”

Emmett also wrote that Clinton’s young staff was rude and arrogant, the Examiner wrote

“Most of these youngsters were from wealthy families, and many viewed Secret Services agents as the hired help,” Emmett writes in “Within Arms’s Length,” an autobiography that provides new details of the inner Secret Service.

Ed Donovan, a spokesman for the Secret Service told the Examiner:

“We do stress to all our employees the importance of not sharing anecdotes about the personal, private moments of the protectees. It causes concern because we don’t want to erode the trust that we have with our protectees.”

Commentary: Note to Janet Napolitano: Be Careful About Trying to Hoodwink the Public

WASHINGTON — Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano and the Obama administration learned a valuable public relations lesson in this latest incident involving the Detroit terror incident: Don’t try to hoodwink the public with positive spin– at least not on something so obvious.

Napolitano came out after the Christmas Day incident involving  a Northwest flight and said “the system worked”.  It seemed to have the same ring of credibility as Bill Clinton’s infamous remark:  “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”

Snow job. (Or in Clinton’s case, the other kind of job).  Both had a cost: a loss of credibility.

Sure, Napolitano backed off her statement and said it was taken out of context. She says she was referring to the response after the incident. And then President Obama stepped up to the plate on Tuesday and conceded that the system had failed.

But some damage was done. You only get so many chances in this unforgiving town. Be careful how you use up those credibility chips. In many instances, once they’re gone, so are you.

WASHINGTON –The U.S. Secret Service averted, at the last minute, a potential assassination attempt by Osama bin Laden on President Clinton in 1996 in the Philippines, according to a new book.

The London  Telegraph reported on the matter, attributing the information to a book “The Death of American Virtue: Clinton vs Starr” by professor Ken Gormley.

The paper said the foiled attack came during Clinton’s visit to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Manila.

The paper reported that Clinton was supposed to travel across a bridge at one point.

“But as the presidential motorcade was about to set off, secret service officers received a ‘crackly message in one earpiece’ saying intelligence agents had picked up a message suggesting an attack was imminent,” the paper reported.

“The transmission used the words “bridge” and “wedding” – a terrorists code word for assassination,” the paper reported. The motorcade was rerouted.

The paper reported that authorities later discovered that a bomb had been placed under the bridge.
