A U.S. attorney told a jury Tuesday to convict a reputed gangbanger accused of ambushing an FBI agent and shooting him in the back in broad daylight in Brooklyn.

“If I were to walk up behind Mr. Navarro right now and shoot him in the back, you’d think ‘he just tried to kill that guy,’” Donoghue said of his co-counsel, assistant U.S. attorney Francisco Navarro, during closing arguments in the attempted murder trial of Ronell Watson, NY Post reports.  “And you’d be right. Mr. Watson intended to kill when he aimed that loaded firearm and at Agent Harper’s back and fired.”

Watson, a reported Crips gang member, is accused of attempted murder of a federal officer, assault of a federal officer and possessing and discharging a firearm on Dec. 8, 2018. At the time, FBI Special Agent Christopher Harper was on surveillance assignment with other agents when Watson approached his vehicle.

Moments after Harper was shot, he was heard telling an NYPD office, “I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die.”

Harper survived the shooting after suffering a collapsed lung, a broken rib and fractured shoulder blade.

Defense attorney Michelle Gelernt claims his client panicked when he saw a strange car with tinted windows quickly approaching him.

“Ronell Watson was no assassin,” she said. “He’s just as afraid of agent Harper as agent Harper is of him.”

Watson faces up to life in prison.

O’Donald, a 29-year veteran of the FBI, complained to fellow agents that he wasn’t feeling himself, so he drove to a local hospital. While in the parking lot, he collapsed and was later pronounced dead.

O’Donald is survived by his wife and and their daughter.

Mallon “was very instrumental in helping set up an FBI undercover operation that resulted in the indictment and conviction of former Atlantic City Mayor Michael Matthews,” in 1984.

Mallon was born in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After college, he initially worked as a certified public accountant.

Mallon’s career as an FBI special agent began in 1972. He worked in offices in Buffalo, Newark and Detroit.

FBI Special Agent Michael Doyle is becoming somewhat of a celebrity in New Jersey.

The 17-year-veteran of tackling white collar crime and political corruption cases may best be known for bringing down the once-powerful Newark Mayor Sharpe James, who served 18 months in prison on corruption charges.

The Trentonian is reporting that Doyle also led the two-year investigation that prompted similar charges against Trenton Mayor Tony F. Mack.

Doyle is expected to take the stand for the third day today in the Mack case to explain how he nabbed the mayor.

FBI Special Agent Ken Hillman was leaving a bar with the wife of a local millionaire last year when he avoided arrest by convincing the responding officer to take him home, the Times Free Press reports

The article does not say that Hillman was drinking but implies that.

On top of that,  the  woman, Angela Russell, who is not a certified law enforcement officer in Georgia, says she worked on a task force that cracks down on online offers for underage sex, the Times Free Press wrote.

Some defense attorneys are now questioning whether Russell compromised any of the dozens of cases.

“[These allegations] definitely damage the credibility of this task force and everything it’s doing,” said defense attorney Shawn Bible, who represents several suspects arrested recently by the FBI task force.
