The Justice Department inspector general expects to issue the long-anticipated report on the ATF gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious by next Tuesday morning, CNN reports.

DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz is to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Tuesday morning, following the report’s release.

Attorney General Eric Holder said he won’t take disciplinary action until the report is released, according to CNN.

The report is believed to assign blame on Phoenix officials who led the effort, CNN reported.

Attorney Gen. Eric Holder Under Fire for Use of FBI Jet

Congressional Republicans are questioning why Attorney General Eric Holder is using the FBIs jet for business and personal travel, the Washington Post reports.

Lawmakers sent a letter Thursday to FBI Director Robert Mueller, saying the federal agencies operate on different budgets.

“It is our understanding that the Justice Department does not reimburse the FBI, or other components, for its executive travel expenses even though the Justice Department maintains its own travel budget,” the letter states, according to the Washington Post.

Republicans questioned whether the use of the jet hampered the agency’s readiness.

“We heard troubling allegations that the Attorney General is among those who have reserved and used FBI planes for his own travel when aircraft were needed for FBI missions, then upgraded to a larger aircraft owned by a different agency and left the FBI plane sitting idle,” the lawmakers wrote

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will announce an array of reforms in the New Orleans Police Department on Tuesday as part of the most far-reaching consent decree of its kind, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

A monitor and federal judge will direct the mandated oversight spelled out in a 125-page agreement for at least four years.

The city will remain under a consent decree until the agency is free of violations for two years, the Times-Picayune wrote.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, virtually every aspect of the police force needs to be reformed.

Last-minute attempts by House Republicans and President Obama’s administration to resolve a dispute over the release of documents has failed.

The House plans to vote Thursday’s vote on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, the Associated Press reports.

Sources told the AP that Republicans met with the administration and Justice Department, which handed over only 30 pages related to the botched gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious.

The GOP was hoping to get more information to suspend an unusual contempt vote.

Republicans told the AP that negotiations are over.

Is it Groundhog Day — as in the Bill Murray film?

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will once again testify on Feb. 2 before Congress where he’s gotten a grilling in the past several months on ATF’s controversial gun walking operation “Fast and Furious.”

Rep. Darrell Issa’s office fired off a press release announcing the appearance, and indicated it’s the first one for Holder that will be exclusively focus on  Fast and Furious. In previous appearances, he’s also addressed other issues.

This is the third time Holder will have testified before congressional panels since November.

Holder will appear before Issa’s Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

“The Department of Justice’s conduct in the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious has been nothing short of shameful,” said Issa in a statement.

“From its initial denials that nothing improper occurred, to efforts to silence whistleblowers who wanted to tell Congress what really happened, to its continuing refusal to discuss or share documents related to this cover-up, the Justice Department has fought tooth and nail to hide the full truth about what occurred and what senior officials knew. Attorney General Holder must explain or reverse course on decisions that appear to put the careers of political appointees ahead of the need for accountability and the Department’s integrity.”

Attorney General Eric Holder has had enough.

Holder told a reporter from the Daily Caller , a conservative news website, to stop egging congressional Republicans on to call for his resignation, reports Talking Points Memo.

“You guys need to… you guys need to stop this,” TPM reports hearing Holder tell the reporter, who approached Holder after a White House event of an unrelated nature involving counterfeit goods. “There’s not an organic thing happening, you guys are behind this.”

The conservative news site has been calling Capitol Hill offices, asking Republicans if Holder should resign over ATF’s botched Fast and Furious operation, TPM reported. While there appears to be  no evidence to date that shows Holder knew about the plan, a steady rank of Republicans have grown from four to 50 calling for Holder’s resignation.
