A San Francisco Bay Area man has been charged after the FBI discovered online threats of a mass shooting at a synagogue.

Ross Farca, 23, of Concord pleaded not guilty to making criminal threats, possession of an illegal assault rifle and manufacturing an assault rifle, The Associated Press reports.

A search warrant uncovered an illegal AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, a high-capacity magazine, Nazi literature and camouflage clothes.

Authorities said he built a complete weapon after legally buying an AR-15 rifle frame.

Farca’s online threats included shooting law enforcement.

The inspiration for a future attack came from the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand and the Poway synagogue shooting in San Diego, authorities said.

“I would probably get a body count of like 30 (Jews) and then like five police officers because I would also decide to fight to the death,” court records say Farca wrote in one online post.

The FBI said it has disrupted two men’s plans to shoot up or bomb churches and synagogues.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that FBI agents were posing as illegal arms dealers who received orders for guns and explosives from two men who were part of a white supremacy group.

The men, Robert C. Doyle, 34, of Chester, and Ronald Beasley Chaney III, 33, were charged  Monday in U.S. District Court in Richmond with attempting to buy the weapons from FBI agents.

“Doyle and Chaney and others known and unknown to the FBI, ascribe to a white supremacy extremist version of the Asatru faith (a pagan religion),” alleges a five-page affidavit from FBI Special Agent James R. Rudisill.

The agent said the plan was for Doyle and others to meet at Doyle’s house “to discuss acting out in furtherance of their extremist beliefs by shooting or bombing the occupants of black churches and Jewish synagogues, conducting acts of violence against persons of the Jewish faith, and doing harm to a gun store owner.”

Two Virginia men who were arrested by the FBI for allegedly plotting bomb and shooting attacks on black churches and synagogues wanted to start a race war, New York Magazine reports.

Federal court documents allege that Robert Doyle and Ronald Beasely Chaney planned to rob a jeweler store, gun shop and armored truck so they could purchase land and “stockpile weapons and train for the coming race war.”

But that plot was quickly dashed by an undercover FBI who took a delivery order for weapons.

The men were arrested and charged.

FBI agents made disturbing discoveries while searching the home of an avowed white supremacist accused of killing three people outside two Kansas Jewish facilities in April.

The Associated Press reports that agents found directions to synagogues and kosher places to eat, a copy of “Mein Kampf” and a T-shirt with a swastika symbol inside the Missouri home of Frazier Glenn Cross.

Cross is charged with killing 69-year-old William Corporon, his 14-year-old grandson, Reat Griffin Underwood, and 53-year-old Terri LaManno outside the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park and a nearby senior care facility.

Judge Metes Out Harsh Sentence in Synagogue Bombing Plot; Sharply Criticizes Govt. in Sting

The sentence on Wednesday was harsh in the bombing plot of Bronx synagogues, but was so the lambasting the federal judge gave the federal government in its sting.

U.S.  District Judge Colleen McMahon sentenced  James Cromitie, 45, David Williams, 30, and Onta Williams, 35, to 25 years in prison in a Manhattan federal court.

But she also sharply criticized the government, saying, according to the New York Daily News:

“The essence of what occurred here is that a government understandably zealous to protect its citizens from terrorism came upon a man both bigoted and suggestible, one who was incapable of committing an act of terrorism on his own,” McMahon said, referring to Cromitie.

“It created acts of terrorism out of his fantasies of bravado and bigotry, and then made those fantasies come true,” she added.

The Daily News reported that the judge said  unlike other domestic terror cases, “the government did not have to infiltrate and foil some nefarious plot – there was no nefarious plot to foil.”

Then she took aim at the defendants.

“You were not political or religious martyrs,” the judge said. “You were thugs for hire, pure and simple.”

In May 2009, the FBI charged the trio after they left bombs in front of the Riverdale Jewish Center and the Riverdale Temple. The bomb, which ended up being fake, were provided by an FBI informant.

The Daily News reported that the informant lured Cromite into the plot with money.
