TSA agents believed they had discovered a gun in a passenger’s carry-on at Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey.

But this item was meant to hold toilet paper, not bullets.

Upon closer inspection last week, TSA agents found a gun-shaped toilet paper holder, the agency said in a news release.

TSA prevents travelers from boarding planes with real or replica firearms. So the traveler was given a choice: Surrender the gun or place it in a checked bag.

The traveler forfeited it to the TSA.

An 80-year-old woman was surprised when she learned that her walking cane contained a hidden sword that was discovered by security at a South Carolina airport, the TSA said.

The woman relinquished her cane after security found a hidden blade nearly the length of the cane at the Myrtle Beach International Airport., the Sun News reports.

“She had no clue it was in there,” TSA spokesman Mark Howell said.

The woman said she received the cane from her son.

The TSA said it’s not uncommon for people to buy items at thrift stores without knowing that a weapon is stored inside.

Investigators in Texas believe they’ve found the handgun used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent while he was fishing with his family on vacation, Breitbart.com reports.

Scouring an area where the suspects were known to hang out, authorities found a handgun that they believe was used during the botched robbery on Aug. 3.

Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega was fishing with his family in the southern part of Willacy County when two men, one of whom had been deported four times, tried to rob the group.

Vega tried to stop the robbery by firing back, authorities said.

“If it is the weapon it can only help strengthen our case and better prove that they shot him,” Willacy County Sheriff Larry Spence said. “Right now we are glad that the weapon was recovered and it didn’t fall into the wrong hands were it could have been used to commit further atrocities.”

A man is in custody after climbing a security fence and trying to gain access to the FBI field office in Sorrento Valley, ABC 10 reports.

The suspect, 36-year-old William Durant, called media outlets at the time and said he wanted to talk to a federal agent.

“One of our security officers tried to stop him and in course of doing so, the man told him he had a weapon,” said Foxworth. “That weapon has not been seen.”

About 6 hours later, SWAT officers were seen on the roof, leading the suspect away in handcuffs.

It wasn’t immediately clear why the suspect wanted to talk with an agent.

Here’s a little unsolicited advice: Don’t pull a gun on an FBI agent.

That’s what a Mississippi man learned after he was sentenced to 15 years in prison late last month, the Associated Press reports.

Eugene Bernardini, 38, bumped into a car in Olive Branch and then pulled a gun on the occupants.

One of those occupants turned out to be FBI Special Agent Thomas Barlow, who quickly disarmed Bernardini before the man pulled out a knife and fled in his car.

Bernardini was arrested later that day.
