Disgraced former IRS chief Lois Lerner is enjoying her “Get Out of Jail Free” card care of the Obama administration.
Who’s surprised she won’t face charges given the fact that most Americans believe the White House was in on allegations the IRS targeted Tea Party and conservative groups applying for nonprofit status?
It gets worse. During the “investigation,” IRS head John Koskinen stonewalled big time, refusing to provide Congress with information including Lerner’s “missing” emails. Sound familiar?
If Americans don’t see a pattern here — of obfuscation and obstruction — under the Obama administration, I have a bridge I want to sell you.
“Lerner was caught red-handed targeting Tea Party and other conservative groups, wrote partisan emails to prove it, then engaged in a massive cover-up effort — with a suspiciously crashed server, an oddly missing BlackBerry and plenty of excuses,” reports Investors Business Daily.
But never mind that. Lerner, a longtime Obama loyalist, was let off the hook by the Justice Department on Friday.
Can you imagine if Lois Lerner were a conservative IRS agent who targeted Democrats, minorities or gays? She’d be in jail right now. And the left-leaning media would’ve been covering the scandal — around the clock.
But thanks to the Obama administration, we’re no longer equal under the law. The rule of law is now arbitrarily applied based on political affiliation and whose pinky ring you kiss. And that’s dangerous for all of us — no matter how you vote.
