Walter Yovany Gomez has been added to the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list after fleeing authorities for six years on charges of murder.
Gomez is accused of murder in connection to the May 2011 killing of Julio Matute. Authorities said the motive was proving himself capable of being a full member of Mara Salvatrucha, an international street gang better known as MS-13.
Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick described the MS-13 as “one of the most vicious and violent street gangs in the United States.”
“They kill rival gang members, they kill innocent civilians,” he said.
