Without offering evidence, President Trump accused special counsel Robert Mueller of “horribly threatening” witnesses in the investigation into Russian interference.

“The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess. They have found no collusion and have gone absolutely nuts,” Trump tweeted Thursday. “They are screaming and shouting at people, horribly threatening them to come up with the answers they want.”

Trump criticized the probe, calling special counsel prosecutors “a disgrace to our Nation” and accusing Mueller by name of being “highly conflicted.”

“A TOTAL WITCH HUNT LIKE NO OTHER IN AMERICAN HISTORY!” Trump tweeted.

The tweets come one day after the Republican-controlled Senate blocked an initiative to protect the special counsel’s investigation.
