Former President Trump is appealing a judge’s decision ordering former chief of staff Mark Meadows and other former White House officials to testify in the federal investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection.

U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell rejected Trump’s claims that he has executive privilege over the officials.

The appeal was filed Wednesday, NBC News reports.

Among those directed to testify are ex-aides Dan Scavino, Stephen Miller, Nick Luna, and John McEntee, and former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe, ex-national security adviser Robert O’Brien, and former Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli.

Some legal experts argue that executive privilege often can’t be used during a criminal investigation.

Also this week, another judge ordered former Vice President Mike Pence to testify in front of a grand jury investigation Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss.
