Several Border Patrol agents were injured in two separate vehicle crashes at checkpoints this week.

On Tuesday, a 43-year-old man was allegedly drunk when his vehicle barreled into a Border Patrol checkpoint near Tombstone, Ariz., injuring several agents, the Herald/Review reports.

Ted Raymond Plotts was speeding when his 2022 Chevy Equinox crashed into the checkpoint on State Route 80.

Plotts and the agents were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released.

Potts was arrested on several charges, including aggravated assault on law enforcement officers.

On Wednesday, a Border Patrol agent was injured when a distracted driver failed to stop at a checkpoint in Dimmit County, Texas, and crashed, leading to injuries to the agent, KGNS reports.

The agent was airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio, where he was in stable condition.

No more details were available Friday morning.
