A popular Kansas City Chiefs fan known as “ChiefsAholic” has been arrested and charged for his alleged role in a string of bank robberies after being on the run for four months, the Justice Department announced Monday

Xavier Michael Babudar, 28, was previously arrested in connection to a December bank robbery in Oklahoma before removing his ankle monitor in March and becoming a fugitive.

Under the latest federal criminal complaint, Babudar is charged with stealing nearly $70,000 from an Iowa bank in March 2022. He’s also charged with one count of transporting stolen property across state lines.

The case will now go before a grand jury.

According to an affidavit in support of the federal criminal complaint, Babudar committed a string of robberies at banks and credit unions through the Midwest. He’s accused of laundering the robbery proceeds through casinos and bank accounts. According to the affidavit, he purchased and redeemed more than $1 million in chips from various casinos in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois between April and December 2022.

Babudar had a robust social media presence.

After Babudar was arrested in Oklahoma in December, the FBI began examining bank records, casino transactions, and other financial data to determine the scope of potential other criminal activities.
