FBI Agents, Prosecutors Threatened, Harassed over Hunter Biden Probe

Prosecutors and FBI agents investigating the Hunter Biden case have been threatened and harassed by people who don’t think the president’s son has been treated harshly enough, NBC News reports

It’s just the latest frightening ordeal facing FBI agents and Justice Department officials who are involved in high-profile cases, from the Hunter Biden investigation to the ones involving former President Trump.

As a result, the FBI has created a unit solely dedicated to investigating and mitigating the threats, according to a previously unreleased transcript of congressional testimony.

“We have stood up an entire threat unit to address threats that the FBI employees’ facilities are receiving,” Jennifer L. Moore, then an executive assistant director of human resources for the FBI, told the House Judiciary Committee in June. “It is unprecedented. It’s a number we’ve never had before.”

“It’s going to be about 10 people when it’s finished,” she said. “We are still in the process of staffing it right now. But their sole mission on a daily basis is threats to FBI employees at facilities.”

Between October and March, threats against FBI agents and facilities have more than doubled, Moore told lawmakers.

Meanwhile, the FBI is investigating violent threats made against officials in Fulton County, Ga., where Trump and 18 co-defendants have been indicted on a litany of alleged crimes related to efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, CNBC reports

“Each and every potential threat brought to our attention is taken seriously,” the FBI said in a statement. “Individuals found responsible for making threats in violation of state and/or federal laws will be prosecuted.”
