Suspected terrorist David Coleman Headley didn’t think a certain cartoon was a laughing matter.

Federal prosecutors in Chicago unsealed terrorism charges Tuesday against Headley, 49, and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, 48, that included allegations that they planned a terrorist attack against the Danish  newspaper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten, which published an inflamatory cartoon in 2005 depicting Prophet Mohammed in what many Muslims found offensive.

According to court documents, Headley supposedly posted an Internet message in October 2008 stating: “I feel disposed towards violence for the offending parties” who made “fun of Islam.”

Authorities captured recorded conversations of the men who often used the following coded words for plots and targets: “investments” and “projects” and “business.”
