WASHINGTON — Mary F. Rook, the chief in the FBI’s Training Division’s Law Enforcement Programs Section, will head the Anchorage Division, the agency announced Wednesday.
Rook began her FBI career in the laboratory as a serology technician in 1984. She became a special agent two years later and was assigned to the Milwaukee Division.
In 1990, she transferred to the Los Angeles Division where she investigated Mexican drug trafficking organizations.
She was later promoted to supervisory special agent and spent another five years overseeing complex drug and money laundering cases, the FBI said.
In 2000, she was selected as the first Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) supervisor in the Los Angeles Division, and the following year she transferred to FBI Headquarters as a supervisor in the Internal Investigation Unit of OPR. In 2003, she was promoted as unit chief for OPR’s Adjudication Unit.
In November 2004, she became an assistant special agent in charge in Salt Lake City and was responsible for all criminal, cyber and administrative programs and five five resident agencies in Utah.
In September 2007, she went to Helena, Montana as an assistant special agent in charge where she oversaw 15 resident agencies in Montana and Idaho.
