Recreational boaters made a shocking discovery off the coast of the Florida Keys – 65 pounds of cocaine floating in the ocean.
The cocaine was wrapped in packages emblazoned with a large image of a bald eagle.
Samuel Briggs II, the acting chief patrol agent of the U.S. Border Patrol, said the cocaine has an estimated street value of more than $1 million.
In a video posted on social media this week, authorities were shown wheeling away the cocaine on a dolly.
The boaters found “approximately 21 individually wrapped kilograms of suspected cocaine,” the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
The Border Patrol seized the packages and thanks the good Samaritans for turning in the drugs.
