If you’re a Secret Service agent, life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.

A Secret Service team was not shopping for chocolates at a Grand Rapids, Michigan Meijer Store recently, when things turned assorted. According to MLive, they were investigating identity theft, wire fraud and access-device fraud in West Michigan, when individuals identified on security tape showed up to do some shopping.

It’s probably fair to assume special agent Bruce Cain thought he was making a routine arrest when he followed one of the suspicious shoppers to her car, identifying himself as an agent and showing his badge. It turned out to be anything but when the suspect suddenly slammed on the gas and dragged Cain 50 feet before he let go of the car and let her escape, sustaining minor injuries.

The incident was recorded on store security cameras.

The suspect, Sharonique Shanelle Pointer, is named in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court, recently unsealed after she was apprehended in Detroit. Pointer stands accused of aggravated assault on a federal officer.
