A former FBI agent and his North Carolina daughter have been charged with murder in the death of the woman’s husband, Fox News reports.
Molly Martens Corbett, 31, and her father, retired FBI agent Thomas Michael Martens were charged in August with second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter, according to grand jury indictments unsealed Monday.
“It was an extremely thorough investigation,” Davidson County Sheriff David Grice told The-Dispatch newspaper Monday. “We are pleased with the decision of the grand jury.”
The husband, 39-year-of Jason Paul Corbett, of Ireland, was found dead with fatal head injuries after he was assaulted at his North Carolina home sometime over the night of Aug. 2.
Martens, 65, said he struck his son-in-law with a baseball bat following an argument.
