An ex-FBI informant faces charges of lying about the Bidens’ business dealings.
Special counsel David Weiss, who had previously filed charges against Hunter Biden, announced the filing of charges in Los Angeles against Alexander Smirnov, the Washington Post reports. He is accused of making false statements and creating a false and fictitious record.
The new charges are a potential setback for House Republicans who have been considering impeaching Biden, citing allegations made by Smirnov, 43.
