DETROIT – An FBI agent was shot and wounded Thursday morning during a drug raid on Detroit’s west side, the FBI said.
Jill Washburn, a spokesperson for the Detroit FBI, said the agent was shot once while executing a warrant at a home around Dacosta and Fenkell. The gunshot wound was considered non-life threatening.
Four people were detained after the shooting, but one was a juvenile who was later released, the FBI said. Charges had yet to be filed in the shooting as of early Thursday evening.
The raid was part of a two-day, multi-agency operation targeting heroin and crack cocaine dealers and distributors in Southeast Michigan on Wednesday and Thursday.
