The FBI shuttered its Kingston office in New York and moved staff and resources to the Albany offices, the Mid-Hudson News reports.

The move will make operations run more smoothly, said FBI spokesman Paul Holstein.

“The Albany division did not have any resources diverted away as part of the closing of this resident agency. These assets were merely reallocated within our division to be utilized more effectively and efficiently,” told the Mid-Hudson News. “One of the major issues when we look at an analysis to determine what resident agencies should be closed is to reduce internal costs to run it more efficiently and to use taxpayers’ money more effectively.”
