The FBI was called to a Florida school after officials saw him acting suspiciously and taking photos of students outside Umatilla High School in Lake County.

But after talking with the man, who appeared to be nervous and sweating, the FBI released the photographer because there was no evidence of criminal activity, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

The man had inconsistent stories, saying his girlfriend attended the high school, but none of the three names he gave were found in school records.

Part of his car was smeared in sunscreen, and divorce papers were found in his vehicle.

“We did everything we possibly could, to include identifying him, running him for a warrants check, interviewing him, searching his vehicle, trespassing him, and notifying the school district, FBI, and FDLE,” Lake County Sheriff’s spokesman John Herrell said. “His behavior, while extremely odd by any standard, didn’t violate any laws.”
