Federal agents who raided former national security adviser John Bolton’s Maryland home last month seized multiple devices and documents, including a “white binder labeled ‘statements and reflections to allied strikes,’” according to new court records released Thursday, The Hill reports.

Bolton, who has not been charged, was not detained when FBI agents searched his Bethesda house on Aug. 22. The raid was reportedly tied to his handling of classified information while writing his 2020 memoir The Room Where It Happened.

An itemized list showed agents took two iPhones, two laptops, a desktop computer, USB drives, folders labeled “Trump I-IV,” and boxes of printed daily schedules. Videos posted online captured FBI agents carrying boxes from his home.

Trump, who fired Bolton as national security adviser in 2019 and later revoked his security clearance, denied advance knowledge of the raid.

“He’s not a smart guy, but he could be a very unpatriotic guy,” Trump told reporters. “I know nothing about it — I just saw it this morning that they did a raid.”

Bolton hit back in an op-ed in the Washington Examiner, calling the search part of Trump’s attempt “to camouflage its disarray.”

He added, “Donald Trump’s Ukraine policy today is no more coherent than it was last Friday when his administration executed search warrants against my home and office.”
