Douglas A. Williams has been appointed to serve as special agent in charge of the FBI’s Houston Field Office.
Williams, who had been the special agent in charge of the New Orleans Field Office, is no stranger to Houston. From 2016-2020, Williams served as assistant special agent in charge of the Houston Field Office.
Williams’ career at the bureau began in 2002, when he was a special agent assigned to the Miami Field Office.
In 2008, he was promoted to supervisory special agent and transferred to the National Gang Targeting Center in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI headquarters.
In 2010, Williams began working for the Special Operations Division at headquarters.
A year later, Williams transferred to the Cincinnati Field Office as supervisory special agent over the violent crime, transnational organized crime, and violent crimes against children programs.
In 2016, Williams began to oversee Cincinnati’s public corruption and complex financial crimes squads.
That same year, Williams became assistant special agent in charge of the Houston Field Office.
In 2020, Williams became section chief in the Office of Congressional Affairs before his promotion to special agent in charge of the New Orleans Field Office.
Before joining the bureau, Williams served as a police officer for the Kenton County Police Department in Kentucky. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Thomas More College in Kentucky and a master’s degree in organizational management and leadership from Western Governors University.
