Former US Attorney Probes University Response to Shooter

Robert Miller, former U.S. Attorney for Colorado, has begun conducting an internal review of the University of Colorado’s actions and procedures related to the deadly Aurora Theater shootings, according to the Denver Business Journal.

James Holmes dropped out of the school’s graduate neuroscience program June 10.

“We are committed to evaluating every step in the process to ensure it worked properly,” Chancellor Donald M. Elliman Jr. said in a statement, according to the Denver Business Journal. “We want the community — especially the loved ones of those who lost their lives and the individuals injured in this senseless tragedy — to know our resolve rests with understanding all the facts so we can assist law enforcement and other authorities in ensuring that justice prevails.”

University president Bruce Benson pledged to cooperate with the independent probe.
