The Justice Department is investigating allegations of state-sponsored doping by dozens of Russia’s top athletes, the New York Times reports.

Prosecutors are investigating Russian government officials, athletes and coaches for possible fraud and conspiracy charges.

In November, the World Anti-Doping Agency published a report that accused Russia of systematic state-sponsored doping.

A chemist, Grigory Rodchenkov, said he was Russian athletes used banned, performance-enhancing substance in global competitions.

The Russian Sports Ministry admitted in a state last week that there were doping problems.
