The lion’s share of Secret Service agents on protective details go an entire career without getting shot.
Then there’s one of the Secret Service agents who protects Nancy Reagan.
The Associated Press reports that the agent accidentally shot himself in the hip Friday at the Ventura County, Calif. Sheriff’s Department shooting range.
AP, citing Ventura County sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Mike Aranda, says the gun went off as the agent was putting it back in its holster. The agent, whose name was not released, was hospitalized for a non-life threatening injury, AP reported.
The shooting is being investigated by the Secret Service.
