Physical Security Specialist

As the Physical Security specialist, you will provide support to the Industrial and Physical Security Division to perform physical and industrial security activities and operations, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) accreditations, TEMPEST, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Access Control to ensure all customer and contractor areas (CONUS and OCONUS) are in compliance with all DoD and IC policies, regulations and directives, such as DCID 6/9, NISPOM and NISPOM Supplement, DoD C-5200.19, and National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Instruction (NSTISSI) 7003. Identify and collect trend analysis, metrics, and performance improvement information.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensure that all customer and contractor areas (CONUS and OCONUS) have met all DoD and IC standards for processing, handling and storing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Collateral classified information prior to formal accreditation as a SCIF or secure area.
* Provide recommendations and guidance for new facilities and those to be renovated.
* Analyze complex physical security issues and provide cost-effective recommendations that meet policy requirements.
* Perform and conduct site security surveys, including compliance of technology equipment supporting SCIFs and collateral areas (e.g., access control, intrusion detection systems, locks, destruction devices, secure phones, etc.,), prior to SCIF accreditation.
* Review and, if required, prepare Fixed Facility Checklist and documentation supporting the accreditation process.
* Investigate, and provide written impact statements or recommendations when deviations from standards are discovered and the resolution, for all SCIFs and collateral areas both government and contractor CONUS and OCONUS.
* Perform staff assistance visits. Provide guidance on implementing security requirements.
* Update and maintain appropriate records, accreditation packages, approvals, (e.g., database and hardcopy), Co-Utilization agreements, collateral areas, status remarks, expirations, and inspections (staff assistance visits), etc.
Position Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years experience in the physical security discipline.
* Ensures that physical security requirements are met.
* Provide recommendations and guidance for new facilities and those to be renovated.
* Analyze complex physical security issues and provide cost-effective recommendations that meet policy requirements.
* Perform site security surveys to determine if facilities meet requirements for Facility (SCIF) accreditation.
* Works with internal and external organizations for solutions for new and developing physical security programs.
* Provide security guidance to customer, managers and external customers.
* Serve as liaison between the customer and security elements and external customers.
* Monitor security applications through review and analysis.
* Provide recommendations for formal approval of all customer SCIF’s and collateral areas, both government and contractor, CONUS & OCONUS.
* Ensures compliance with DCID 6/9, “Physical Security Standards for SCIF’s”, and DoD standards for collateral areas and is familiar with all related and supporting DCID’s, DoD policies, standards and Executive Orders.
* Be familiar with security technology and equipment supporting SCIF’s and collateral areas.
* Review and, as required, prepare the Fixed Facility Checklist and drawings supporting the accreditation process
* Risk management – Conducts surveys and renders recommendations and, if necessary, impact statements when deviations to standards discovered. Recommends deviations, when appropriate and fully justified
* Investigate and prepare impact statements, and make recommendations on security violations on SCIF or collateral matters
* Provide guidance as required in implementing security requirements
* Review and, as required, prepare the Fixed Facility Checklist and drawings supporting the accreditation process
Security Requirements: U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance completed within the last 5 year and are willing to submit to an initial and random polygraph.
