Authorities are trying to determine who sent an Arizona sheriff explosives in the mail.

CNN reports that Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is known for his unusual treatment of inmates, was sent a package that turned out to be a bomb.

The package never made it past the post office because it caught the attention of the postal service.

“We evacuated the post office, got all our employees to safety,” U.S. Postal Inspector Andrew Rivas in Flagstaff told CNN.

Arpaio has made national attention for forcing many inmates to wear pink underwear and sleep in tents.
