The FBI under J. Edgar Hoover’s leadership spied on David Frost’s program to monitor left-wing guests, newly released FBI reports show, the New York Post reports.
At one point, an undercover FBI agent was even planted in the audience, in yet another bizarre discovery about the celebrities spied on by the bureau.
The FBI had their eyes on specific guests, including economist John Kenneth Galbraith, black nationalist Stokely Carmichael and even folk singer Joan Baez.
No action was taken, according to the memos, the Post reported.
