A Secret Service agent, assigned to protect former President Obama, invited his girlfriend to tour Obama’s Hawaii property while the Obamas were away, according to a memoir by the woman involved.
Using the pseudonym “Dale,” the agent sent Koryeah Dwanyen photos of the house and suggested she visit in 2022.
“No one will know. If anything, I’m the one who could get in trouble,” he reportedly told her, The Daily Beast reports.
During the visit, he allegedly proposed they have sex in Michelle Obama’s bathroom, likening it to the “mile-high club.”
The Secret Service confirmed a similar incident, stating the agent was suspended and later fired.
“These actions were an unacceptable violation of our protocols, our protectees’ trust, and everything we stand for,” said Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi.
Dwanyen, who met the agent on Martha’s Vineyard, was initially unaware he was married. As their relationship progressed, she grew alarmed by his disclosures about protectees’ schedules and security details, which included information about Mike Pence and the Obamas’ routines.
“I knew things I should not have been privy to as a civilian,” she told ABC News.
Concerned, Dwanyen reported the breaches to the agent’s supervisor, leading to an investigation.
The Secret Service has come under scrutiny recently for various security lapses, including a failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump. An independent review highlighted “numerous mistakes” and the need for operational improvements within the agency.
