WASHINGTON — Just before heading home for the holidays, the U.S. Senate confirmed only one of five pending nominees for U.S. Attorney, the news website Main Justice reported.
The Senate on Wednesday confirmed by unanimous consent Christopher Thyer for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
The others were sent back to President Obama the remaining names which must now be renominated for the new Congress, Main Justice reported. The site said 76 U.S. Attorneys have been confirmed so far, two years into the Obama administration.
The people who did not get confirmed included S. Amanda Marshall of Oregon, M. Scott Bowen of the West District of Michigan, John B. Stevens Jr of the Eastern District of Texas and Thomas Gray Walker of the Eastern District of North Carolina.
