Authorities have linked a 1996 sexual assault to a serial rapist accused of attacking women in Washington D.C. and Maryland, the Associated Press reports.
The FBI and local police believe the man attacked nine other women between 1991 and 1998, including a 28-year-old biochemist who was murdered with a heavy rock.
The women ranged in age from 18 to their 40s and were stalked and then overpowered by the man who would throw a towel or blanket over their heads.
Since the last known attack was 14 years ago, authorities aren’t sure whether the suspect still lives in the area or is alive.
