Special counsel Robert Hur is set to testify before Congress on Tuesday after finishing a yearlong investigation into President Biden’s handling of classified documents.
Hur concluded that Biden shouldn’t face criminal charges, but in a 345-page report released last month, the special counsel painted a harsh picture of the president as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” and “diminished faculties in advancing age.”
Hur has drawn criticism from both Democrats and Republicans.
Democrats say his assessment of Biden’s cognitive abilities crossed a line, and Republicans argue that he went too soft on the president.
Hur’s testimony will mark the first time he has addressed the public since his report went public last month.
