Support Independent Journalism — Donate to ticklethewire.com

By Allan Lengel

All around the country media outlets are laying off workers or simply shutting down — all at a time getting truthful, reliable information is so important. I’ve been in journalism all my adult life and still believe in the mission to inform. I started at a small suburban paper and eventually worked at the Detroit News, and later, the Washington Post. I also taught journalism at the University of Maryland and served as an intern under investigative columnist Jack Anderson.

In 2008, after leaving the Post, I launched ticklethewire.com. We’ve written about the good, the bad and ugly in federal law enforcement over the many years. Besides publishing stories, we’ve published columns by former officials who have wanted to voice concerns about what was happening with their agency. I’ve always thought it was important to keep people informed and give people a voice. It’s a calling. A public service. An obligation.

Now, after nearly 15 years, we’re asking you to consider donating to help cover some of our costs. Anything, big or small, is greatly appreciated.

The donation link is here.  You can also find the donation button in the upper left hand corner of the site. Or you can send a check written to ticklethewire to: Allan Lengel, ticklethewire.com, 440 Burroughs St, Suite 647, Detroit, Michigan 48202.

Thanks in advance.
