The Supreme Court delivered a victory to the Justice Department on Monday, upholding a law that makes it a crime to provide material support to foregin terrorist organizations, the New York Times reported.
The ruling made it a crime to provide support even if the ultimate goal isĀ to peacefully resolve a conflict, the Times reported. The Justices voted 6-3.
Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., who wrote the majority opinion, saying the law did not violate did not violate the First Amendment as the plaintiffs had argued.
