Two U.S. Secret Service officers were suspended last week after a fight between them was caught on video and shared widely online.

A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed the video’s authenticity, showing two female officers in a physical altercation while on duty. NBC News reported that the fight took place near former President Barack Obama’s Washington, D.C., residence.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on May 21 and is now under internal investigation, according to the Secret Service.

“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of an on-duty altercation that occurred between two Uniformed Division officers at approximately 2:30 a.m. on May 21,” the agency said in a statement. “The individuals involved were suspended from duty and this matter is the subject of an internal investigation.”

The statement said the agency holds its employees to “a very strict code of conduct” and that “any behavior that violates that code is unacceptable.”

The spokesperson declined to provide further details, calling it a personnel matter.
