Former FBI agent Robert Levinson has been missing in for 2,000 days. He vanished while visiting Iran.
The U.S. State Department pledged Tuesday to continue its hunt for the 64-year-old man, who disappeared March 9, 2007, UPI reports.
The family last received a video of Levinson two years ago, but nothing since.
Family members said he was in Iran investigating cigarette smuggling for a private client, according to UPI
“Determining Mr. Levinson’s whereabouts and reuniting him safely with his family continues to be a priority for the U.S. government,” said State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland. “The United States also continues to welcome the assistance of our international partners in this investigation.”
