WASHINGTON — Valerie Parlave, who most recently served as acting special agent in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office’s Criminal Division, has been named special agent in charge of the FBI’s Little Rock Division, the agency announced Thursday.
Parlave joined the FBI in 1991 and was first assigned to the Las Vegas Division, where she worked as a case agent on violent crime and fugitive investigations.
She was later assigned to the division’s violent gang and drug squad. In 2000, she was promoted to supervisory special agent in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI Headquarters.
Two years later, she was named an assistant inspector in the Office of Inspections to analyze division and field office performance.
Parlave transferred to the Miami Division in 2003 where she supervised a violent gang squad and was promoted to assistant special agent in charge in 2006.
In 2008, she was named section chief of the Employee Development and Selection Program in the Human Resources Division, where she managed employee and leadership development and the promotion process, the FBI said.
