Ghislaine Maxwell has asked President Donald Trump to commute her 20-year prison sentence while receiving unusually favorable treatment behind bars, according to documents released by a whistleblower and reviewed by House Judiciary Democrats, The Hill reports.
The records show Maxwell was moved to a lower-security Texas prison shortly after meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, where staff say she now enjoys “concierge-style treatment.” One Bureau of Prisons employee complained they were “sick of having to be Maxwell’s b–ch,” according to the documents.
An Oct. 5 email appearing to be from Maxwell to her attorney said she was preparing a “commutation application.” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said the message shows “either that Ms. Maxwell is herself requesting you release her from her 20-year prison sentence for her role as a co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein’s international child sex trafficking ring, or that this child sex predator now holds such tremendous sway in the second Trump Administration that you and your DOJ will follow her clemency recommendations.”
The records also allege Maxwell has been granted special privileges, including customized meals, after-hours gym access, and visitor perks such as snacks and the use of computers. Democrats questioned whether her treatment was tied to her cooperation with the Justice Department, noting she has refused to testify before Congress without a pardon or immunity.
Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for aiding Epstein, who died by suicide in jail in 2019. She maintains her innocence and has openly sought clemency from Trump.
