Julian Assange, the controversial founder of WikiLeaks, claims Russia was not the source of hacked information about the Democratic Party, refuting claims by the FBI and other American intelligence agencies.

“We can say, we have said, repeatedly that over the last two months that our source is not the Russian government and it is not a state party,” Assange told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday in an interview at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

Assange, who has been in self-imposed exile over rape allegations since 2012, sought to contradict reports by the FBI and CIA that Russian hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee.

“They’re trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House,” Assange told Hannity. “They are trying to say President-elect Trump is not a legitimate president.”
