A Wisconsin teenager killed his parents to finance a plan to assassinate President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government, according to a newly released FBI affidavit.
Nikita Casap, 17, is accused of fatally shooting his mother and stepfather —Tatiana, 35, and Donald Mayer, 51 — whose bodies were found in their Waukesha home on Feb. 28, USA Today reports. Investigators believe the couple was killed more than two weeks earlier. Casap is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, hiding a corpse, and theft.
Federal authorities say Casap was arrested in Kansas hours after the bodies were discovered, driving a stolen vehicle with a gun, ammunition, and $14,000 inside. A search of his phone uncovered ties to the neo-Nazi group, “The Order of Nine Angels,” and a manifesto outlining plans for political violence, including the use of drones and explosives.
The affidavit alleges Casap wrote about killing Trump to trigger national chaos and had communicated with a Russian contact as part of the plot. It also includes antisemitic and white supremacist rhetoric found in the document.
Authorities say the double homicide was intended to give Casap the financial independence to carry out his plan.
