A 16-year-old U.S. citizen was arrested after Border Patrol agents said he was transporting methamphetamine across the border using a remote-controlled car.

Agents on Sunday arrested the boy, who was spotted walking along a secondary border wall with two duffel bags stuffed with 50 packages of meth weighing nearly 56 pounds. He also had a remote-controlled car.

Meth found in duffel bags, via CBP.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $106,096, according to CBP.

The arrest comes two years after agents foiled drug traffickers who were using a remote-controlled drone to fly the narcotics across the border. In that case, a 25-year-old drone operator was sentenced last year to 12 years in prison.

“I am extremely proud of the agents’ heightened vigilance and hard work in stopping this unusual smuggling scheme,” San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison said in a news release.

A teenager accused of stabbing four people at the University of California in Merced “may have been self-radicalized,” ABC News reports.

The FBI said Thursday that investigators discovered that Faisal Mohammad, 18, visited ISIS-related and other extremists websites in the weeks before the attack.

“Investigators developed information that he may have self-radicalized and drawn inspiration from terrorist propaganda,” said a press release by FBI Sacramento.

Authorities said Mohammad attacked a fellow student in a classroom and then attacked three others as he fled across campus.

University police shot and killed Mohammad.

An FBI Employee in the bureau’s Chicago office has been charged with raping a teenage babysitter in his Indiana home.

ABC7 reports that James Luttinen, 33, is accused of raping the teenage relative in July while he was drunk and his family was in the next room at his home in northwest Indiana.

Although court records indicate he admitted sexually assaulting the girl in July, he continued working at the FBI field office until an arrest warrant was filed two weeks ago.

The computer systems specialist for the FBI had high security clearance and worked at the office since 2009.

According to a police affidavit, Luttinen gave the girl alcohol and said he was “three sheets to the wind”  and there was this “young, good-looking girl, rubbing up against him” so  “I decided to just go with it.”

A 15-year-old boy accused of plotting an ISIS-inspired attack on Pope Francis during his upcoming visit to the U.S. was arrested by the FBI, the Daily News reported Tuesday.

The teenager, who has not yet been identified, is accused of finding bomb-making directions on social media and then sharing them.

“The minor was inspired by [ISIS] and sought to conduct a detailed homeland attack which included multiple attackers, firearms, and multiple explosives, targeting a foreign dignitary at a high-profile event,” a joint intelligence bulletin by the FBI and Homeland Security said.

The FBI wouldn’t comment on the case.

“We are monitoring very closely threats against the pope as he comes into the United States,”  U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said Sunday, adding that the Secret Service alerted him to an earlier thwarted plot. “We’re all very vigilant to protect him.”

A Border Patrol agent accused of assaulting a Mexican teenager at a Nogales station in January 2014 won’t be charged, the Tucson News reports.

A misdemeanor charge was dismissed against Aldo Arteaga on Monday.

The case stems from surveillance video that showed the agent hitting a boy and taking his cell phone.

Since the teen was returned to Mexico just hours after the incident, prosecutors said they had no choice but to dismiss the case because the teen would not be able to attend any court hearings.

Sonomo County Sheriff’s Deputy Erick Gelhaus had a split second to decide whether to pull the trigger when a teenager pointed what appeared to be an automatic weapon at him.

The 24-year veteran of the department squeezed the trigger eight times, killing the 13-year-old boy who turned out to be holding a replica AK-47, the San Francisco Gate reports.

On Wednesday, the FBI and U.S. attorney’s office alerted Sheriff Steve Freitas that they’ve concluded that the deputy did not commit any federal civil rights violations in the shooting death of Andy Lopez.

The federal investigation follows a decision by Sonoma County prosecutors to clear Gelhaus of any criminal wrongdoing.

The shooting happened after deputies in a patrol car spotted Andy from behind and thought he had a real automatic weapon.

Deputies said Andy responded to them by raising his hand with the plastic weapon, prompting the shooting.

Lawsuit Seeks to Name Border Patrol Agent Who Shot, Killed 16-Year-Old in Nogales

Civil rights lawyers are suing federal government to force the disclosure of the name of the Border Patrol agent who shot and killed a 16-year-old teen in the back.

“This is an extraordinary request by the government and just one more example of how the Border Patrol attempts to shield its unlawful actions from the public. The rule of law demands transparency—that’s all we’re asking for,” said Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s national Immigrants’ Rights Project in a news release.

The body of Jose Antonio Elena Rodriguez was found about 40 feet from the border near the port of entry in Nogales.

Border Patrol said the agent was responding to rock throwers, but a witness disputes that.

CBP has agreed to release the name of the agent, but only if the identity is kept hidden from the public.

“The public interest in knowing the identity of a federal agent sued for the use of deadly force during his official duties is paramount,” attorneys wrote.
